It was a weekend of tyre choices for Mike so if you are a tyre geek enjoy his summary; “Tyres were the important factor with the heat, tried Bridgestones, Pirelli and Continentals on the practice day but settled with a combination of Pirelli SC1 slick front and Conti TrackAtackRace Medium rear, proved to be a winning combo thanks to Cambrian tyres.

Got a 180/60 Pirelli to try however it wouldn't fit in, when we measured it 196mm....Bad engineering or what...”

Mike always enjoys racing but when 0.075 seconds separates 3 riders on the line (Race 1) there’s an extra level of loving the elbows out spirit of club racing. The machines might be classics but there are some fired up youngsters out there and Mike says; “I have to put in 100% and bring all my 45 years of experience to outfox these boys and girls, come along to Donington and see."
