No Limits Round 6 Knockhill (Nick)

RatMally brand ambassador Nick Round recovering after a heavy highside crash during the No Limits National Endurance championship at Knockhill

RatMally Ambassador; Nick Round

Nick endured the biggest crash of his racing career during could be called a character-building weekend in Scotland, and while crashing comes with racing, it’s a hard one to endure, especially when your mates are still on track!

Nick’s weekend was cut short before it really began when, during Friday’s third test session, Nick cracked the throttle on his Yamaha R6 on the second lap and was instantly launched into a massive highside.

After a swift trip to Dundee Accident and Emergency, medical staff confirmed that despite how it felt to Nick, nothing was broken. He was discharged the same day but found himself strictly on light duties to begin a three-week recovery process in time for the race date. Reflecting on the hospital treatment, Nick noted that the emergency morphine was highly overrated.

In his absence, the Randy Racing squad demonstrated the true grit and determination you might expect from an endurance team. They were plagued by persistent machine issues throughout the weekend, but the team dug deep to salvage a brilliant 6th-place finish, locking in vital championship points on a weekend where everything seemed stacked against them.

Nick is currently focusing entirely on his physical rehabilitation to get off the sofa and back onto the grid for the next event
